iENSO at VISION 2026: Embedded Vision in Action

iENSO joined partners and industry peers at VISION 2026 in Stuttgart, Germany, from 6–8 October. Representing our team were Vlad Kardashov, Ilan Gershon and Marc van den Heuvel.

Hosted at the Macnica booth, the show offered an opportunity to connect with visitors, discuss emerging applications for embedded vision and Edge AI, and explore how intelligent imaging can support industrial automation.

From a human request to robotic action

A highlight was the interactive robotic arm demonstration by Macnica Europe. It combined iENSO’s CV75m Mako embedded vision platform for object detection with Ambarella’s N1-655 Edge AI platform for natural-language interpretation. Macnica brought together the partner technologies, while Estigiti provided design engineering and system integration.

Visitors could type an instruction in natural language and watch the robotic arm select and move objects based on their request. All processing took place locally at the edge, connecting language understanding, visual perception and robotic control.

Powered by the Ambarella CV75m AI vision SoC and running detection models developed and optimised by Estigiti, Mako identified objects by shape, colour and position directly on the device. Estigiti’s calibration and control integration translated those observations into coordinates for the robotic arm, enabling it to locate and handle the selected objects.

Exploring industrial applications

Embedded vision can support industrial tasks such as sorting components by colour or shape and guiding robotic pick-and-place operations. These capabilities have potential applications across manufacturing, material handling and assembly, where recognising and locating objects is essential to automated handling.

The natural-language interface added another dimension, allowing visitors to request different combinations of objects through a plain-language instruction. Together, these technologies demonstrated how embedded vision and Edge AI can help automated systems respond to both their surroundings and user requests.

We look forward to continuing these conversations and helping customers bring intelligent vision solutions to life
